Can I bring a friend or family member with me to just one class?

Of course. When you sign in just put times two and we’ll use one of your classes. Alternatively, they can also pay just $20 per person for a drop-in class.

Would group classes or personal lessons be better for me?

Personal lessons are for individuals or couples wanting to receive 100% of the instructors personal attention.  If you are looking to learn with friends or meet new people, then specialty and group classes would probably be the best fit for you. We also recognize that costs are an important factor and that is why we strive very hard to keep the cost of our group classes as low as possible. We want to try and give everyone the opportunity to have fun dancing!

Do you offer make-up classes for the group classes?

Yes, we understand that you have a busy life and other things sometimes get in the way of your dance classes. Your classes only count when you are there when you are on the 6-class purchase option.

How long are your lessons?

Most classes and personal lessons are one full hour (60 minutes). However, personal lessons, private group classes, and parties can be scheduled to fit your needs and adjusted to meet the length of time that suits you best.

Can you come to my location for lessons or a party?

Yes. We offer the option of coming to you to teach lessons to couples or party guests at special events. Prices vary by location and other circumstances related to your particular request. See our special events page or contact us for more details .

What should I wear?

Dress in clothing that allows a full range of movement while maintaining modesty. Please do not wear work out clothes. Most men wear jeans, or slacks. Ladies the same or a skirt or dress. Dance shorts are required to be worn under all skirts, as you’ll never know when you’ll be twirling!

What type of shoes should I wear?

We want your feet to be comfortable so you can focus on the dancing. Sneakers are okay but something with a smooth (leather or suede) sole is best. For ladies, if you are normally comfortable in a heel then that is best. There are no requirements, but please avoid wearing flip-flops or heavy boots. Having the proper footwear does make a difference so consider buying dance shoes. For those preparing for a wedding or special event, we recommend wearing the shoes you’ll be dancing in on your special day, or something similar.

What else do I need to bring?

While we do have a water fountain and also water bottles available for purchase, some students bring their own water or sports drinks. Dancing is a physical activity that requires physical contact. Some of our students find bringing a towel or a second shirt is a good idea to insure an enjoyable dance experience for all.

How do I know what dances I should learn?

If all you know is that you are interested in dancing, but you don’t know anything about dancing yet, that’s fine! We’ll help you figure out what dances will be the best for you. Factors such as, what kinds of music you enjoy, where you see yourself going out dancing, and the specific reasons you’re taking classes or lessons are among those that are considered. For wedding couples, the dance style is tailored to your song choice for your First Dance, Father-Daughter, or Mother-Son dance.

Do I have to purchase more than one personal lesson at a time?

No, you can pay as you go. We do offer discounts on personal lessons if you purchase a block of lessons in advance. Please see our personal lessons page for details.

How long will it take me to learn to be a good dancer?

This is a frequently asked question, but we don’t have a precise answer for you because you are unique! We recognize that everyone learns at a different pace and we’ve found that individual opinions as to what constitutes a “good dancer” varies widely amongst our diverse student base. You will be dancing in your first class or lesson and you will continue to improve your dancing for as long as you’d like to take classes or personal lessons. I’d encourage you to continue taking classes or personal lessons for as long as you’re having a good time! The rewards are numerous: exercise, stress relief, meeting people, keeping your brain and body active, and of course… it’s a lot of fun!

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a personal lesson?

No problem, as long as you notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled lesson. This just represents another way we try to excel at providing you with a superior customer service experience. However, if you are unable to provide us with at least a 24 hour notice, then please be aware that you will be assessed a $40 cancellation fee. Please contact us directly to discuss your particular situation. We do understand that sometimes emergencies happen and we want you to keep dancing. You can call, text, or email us if you need to make a change to your personal lesson.

What if I need to miss a group class?

Most of our group classes only count when you are there. If you are in a special class, or performance class please talk to Kathy or your instructor for more clarification.

What about a refund or expiration on my classes and lessons?

Since we offer such flexibility on when you can take your classes and lessons we do not offer refunds. However, group classes and personal lessons don’t expire until one year from purchase! There are a few exceptions for special offers. You can also transfer your lessons to someone else if need be.
